BOWMAN , ERNEST SAMUEL (SAM) - age 69, of Knoxville, passed away June 18, 2000. Member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Andersonville. Retired from Levi Strauss after 41 years of service. Past minister and member of Bright Hope Lodge #557, Starlight Order of the Eastern Star #463, Scottish Rite and York Rite. Preceded in death by parents, James Ben & Ida S. Bowman ; brothers, Jim and Benny Bowman ; sister, Betty Jo Kennemore. Survived by wife, Sylvia Bowman ; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry & Bob Walker, Mary Ann & Alan Bright; son and daughter-in-law, Ernie & Tracy Bowman ; grandsons, Drew, Ryan and Brent Lambert, Josh Bright; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Bowman ; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert & Joyce Bowman , Frank & Dot Bowman ; sisters-in-law, Libby Bowman , Martha Bowman . Special thanks to Martin Mill Dialysis, Rural Metro, physicians and nurses at Baptist Hospital for their care, compassion, love, and support. Masonic service 8 p.m. Tuesday, Mynatt's Chapel with funeral service to follow, Rev. Tom Aiken officiating. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home 12:15 p.m. Wednesday and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for 1 p.m. interment service. Arrangements by Mynatt's.
