SMITH , MARY SUE age 67 of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Hillcrest West Nursing Home from the chronic disease, Multiple Sclerosis. Mary Sue's life was a life of sharing, with a desire to encourage those in her life to become better. She had a zest for life that she tried to radiate to all. She was of the Baptist Faith. Born Dec. 18, 1940 the third of eleven siblings. Preceded in death by parents, Troy and Irene Ridenour Smith ; sister-in-law, Linda Smith ; nephew, Norman Smith . Survived by special longtime companion, Rex Campbell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rex M. and Belle Smith , Beecher C. Smith , Jake and Jayetta Smith , Lawrence and Pat Smith , James P. and Vickey Smith and William Joe Smith ; sisters and brothers-in-law, Belva Ann and Mike Douglas, Johnnie and George Simpson, Elizabeth and Steve Cardwell and Barbara and Jay Summers; several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and many friends. A special thanks to the caregivers Jennifer Reed and Emily Cain and Pete Prins and the entire staff at Hillcrest West and to Hospice for their heartfelt love and care. The family will receive friends 2-4 pm Sunday at Weaver's Chapel with the service to follow at 4 pm with Rev. Wayne McMillan officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10: 45 am Monday at Highland Memorial Cemetery for an 11 am graveside service. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers: Lonnie Coleman, Charles Huskey, John Coker, Wayne Burkett and Steve Campbell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Assoc. of America.
