McMILLAN, LEAH MARGARET (PEGGY) - age 71, of Knoxville, passed away April 10, 2003, at U.T. Hospital. She was an active member of the Churchwell Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.O. and Edith Marshall , and brother, Andrew. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Wayne, and son, Bill McMillan, and her pet puppy, Milley sister, Mary Lee Marshall brothers, Olin and wife, Mary Marshall of Maryville, John and Francis of Auburndale, Fla. sister-in-law, Helen Henry and husband, Fred of Knoxville, and several nieces and nephews. Peggy was a Registered Nurse, a 1952 graduate of the Fort Sanders School of Nursing, having served to relieve the suffering of others. She retired from Lakeshore Mental Health Institute in 1996. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2003, at the Churchwell Avenue Baptist Church with visitation that followed until 4:30 p.m., Reverend Wayne McMillan, her husband, conducted the service. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Serving as pallbearers will be: Chuck Lankford, Wayne Burkett, Gary McCrary, Charles Lowery, Scott Revell and John Strange. Weaver Funeral Home, "A Tradition of Service Since 1921", 5815 Western Ave. (865) 588-3868, is in charge of arrangements.
