HICKMAN, RUTH L. - age 73, of Corryton, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 25, 2001, at her home. She was a member of Washington Pike Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted fan of women's softball, where she played, coached and attended many games until her illness last fall. She was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lura Collins; her daughter, Debbie Hickman Hall. Survived by husband of 53 years, Charles Hickman; children, Ronald and Angie Hickman, Connie and Mike Bullen, Pam and Jack Chittum , and Tim and Monica Hickman, all of Corryron; son-in-law, Greg Hall, of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Charlie and Terra Hall of Arlington, Texas, Felecia and Gina Hickman, Jeremy and Derek Bullen, Dustin and Mariah Chittum , Brandon, Julie and Jaclyn Chittum , Bryan and Melissa Hickman; great-grandchildren, Natlie Hickman and Colby Chittum , all of Corryton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Jim Lay, and Mary Hargrove of Knoxville, and Juanita and Lewis Corum of Crossville, and special niece, Rosemary White of Crossville. Funeral service 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel, Rev. Mike Lee officiating. Family and friends will meet Wednesday at Washington Presbyterian Church Cemetery for a 1 p.m. interment service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel.
