Our beloved father, Charles Manning, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at the age of 89.
He passed away at his home while with his family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna Sue Green Manning, daughter Janice Charlene Manning, parents Dexter and Lou Ella Manning, brothers Jack, Jimmy, JB, and Paul Manning, sisters Margret Green and Mary Ruth Hux, and sons-in-law Popcorn Sutton and Roy Worley.
He is survived by his daughters Rhonda Mooneyham and Pam Sutton of Parrottsville, Ella Mae Worley, and Vanessa and Wayne Hazelwood of Newport; grandchildren Jennifer and Craig Malone of Greeneville; Jason and Jessica Mooneyham of Rogersville; Charlie Greer, Gary and Dee Dee Manning, Jonathan and Amy Greer, Kevin and Angie Manning, Justin Hazelwood, Corey and Candice Hazelwood, and Rodney and Keirsten Hazelwood, all of Newport, and a host of great-grandchildren.
His brothers are Edward and Bernice Manning of Newport, Johnny and Jamie Manning of Newport, and Tommy Manning of North Carolina. His sisters include Darlene and David Walton, Ina Mae Manning, of Newport, and Libby and Tim Burgess of North Carolina. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Betty Manning of Newport and also has several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012, in the chapel of Costner-Maloy Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors Paul Jennings and Doug Messer officiating. Burial will follow in the Parrottsville Memorial Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
