Paul William Daniels, age 62, of Piedmont, AL, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Paul was born in Atlanta, GA.
He was a graduate of Piedmont High School and attended Jacksonville State University. He was a resident of Israel for six years and loved hiking in the Sinai Desert. Paul was an avid reader, good conversationalist and blogger, and had been described by all who knew him as a gentle giant.
He was a master gardener and enjoyed sharing his garden and love of nature with everyone.
He was preceded in death by his father George L. Daniels.
He is survived by his wife Linda Hux Daniels; stepson David Williams (Angela) of Newport, TN; two granddaughters Marlee Kate and Maya Williams; his mother Martha Daniels of Piedmont, AL; sister Robyn Daniels of Tuscaloosa; brother Ralph Daniels of Atlanta; uncle Herschel Wisebram (Ruth) of Cartersville, GA; and numerous cousins and a host of friends. He is also survived by his special friend and neighbor Jarrett Floyd.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to the Piedmont Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 333, Piedmont, AL 36272.
