Grace Gibson went home to the beautiful gardens of heaven on July 7, 2005.
She was a devoted and faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
She was a devoted nurse of 43 years, working at Valentine-Shults Clinic, Cocke County Baptist Emergency Room and One Day Surgery, and Superior Home Health and Hospice. She was going to peoples homes to help them before there was ever a home health company. If someone needed her she was there.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin C. Gibson; parents, T.H. and Catherine Ellis; brothers, J.R. and Robert Ellis; sister, Martha Stanley and foster grandson, Herbert Williams.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Carson and Kathy Gibson, Hickory N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Doug Graham; foster daughters, Mrs. Junior (Katheryn) Williams and Mrs. Carl (Dortha) Gilland; grandchildren, Jessica Gibson, Hickory N.C.; James Brandon, and Brittany Mooneyham of Newport; foster grandchildren, Mrs. Herbert (Claudette) Williams, Keith (Angie) Williams, Mrs. Jimmy (Emma) Rae, Mrs. Steve (Carla) Sexton, Mrs. Russell (Beth) Blazer and Tiphani and Haylie Dickerson. She is also survived by several foster great grand children; sisters, Mrs. Slayden (Ruth) Bradley of Maryville and Rose Bearden of Dandridge; brothers, David (Wanda) Ellis of TX, Thomas Ellis Jr. of TX, Sam (Judy) Ellis of GA, Marvin Ellis of Bulls Gap, and Kenneth (Pat) Ellis of Knoxville. She is also survived by former son-in-law, Jeff Mooneyham.
She was 'Mamaw' to numerous people, and will be sadly missed by several close and special friends.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Saturday July 9, 2005 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial 2 p.m. Sunday at Resthaven.
Family will receive friends from 5-8p.m. Saturday prior to the funeral services, Rev. Tom Mooty will be officiating.
