Willard Guy Sane (Coach Sane), age 28, of Parrottsville passed away Tuesday evening, May 18, 2004 at his home.
He was an eighth grade teacher at Parrottsville Elementary School. He loved his teaching and cared for all his students. He wanted to teach children that they could be whatever they wanted to be in life. Coach Sane had a love for coaching and had been coaching various baseball teams for over ten years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Athan Sane; grandparents, W.E. and Verdie Renner and Cecil and Hattie Sane; aunts, Margaret Sane and Carolyn Sane; and cousins, Willard Boyd Campbell and Colby Turner.
Survivors include his mother, Magdalene Sane of Parrottsville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose and Dennis Johnson of Parrottsville and Reathel Ann and Jeremy Crum of Newport; brother and sister-in-law, Dallas and Crystal Sane of Parrottsville; nieces, Selina and Brandy Johnson; several cousins, including special cousin, Jason Renner, of Dandridge; aunt and uncle, Reathel Mae and A.J. Campbell of Newport who were like a mother and father to him; uncles and aunts, Walter and Carolyn Renner of Greeneville, J.E. and Aileen Renner, Marlene Renner, Ida and L.V. Sane, Lloyd Sane, Mack and Rita Sane, Ed and Becky Sane, Val and Johnny Sane, all of Parrottsville, Alton and Dale Sane of Bybee, Lonnie Sane of Del Rio, Willis and Mary Etta Sane of Greeneville, Vavalee and Junior Cummings of Newport, Mary Belle Daniels of Lancaster, S.C., Lucille Sane, and Flora and Junior Butterworth, all of Dandridge, and Sylvia and Emmitt Turner of Keevy, KY. He is also survived by Josh Lane, Brady and Calvin Watson, and Jeruas Deardorff that were like his own sons.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004 at Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel with Rev. Paul Jennings officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jody Lane, Jason Renner, Brady Watson, Nathan Fancher, Tommy Holifield, and Josh Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Bruce Dunn, Charles Shell, Lannie Trentham, Larry Lindsey, and Matthew Lane.
Arrangements by Costner-Maloy.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
