RUTH PARKER - a loving wife and mother, age 86, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001. She was born in Knox County, Tenn. She was married to Sam Finchum for 67 years, and they lived most of her life in Newport, Tenn. She was a charter member of English Mountain Christian Church, Newport, Tenn. She is survived by her husband, Sam Finchum of Newport, Tenn.; daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Oake Moore of Strawberry Plains, Tenn., Anna and Jim Bellamy of Powell, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Darlene Finchum of Newport, Tenn.; sister, Beatrice Parker of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special friends, Pat and Ed Thompson, and a special thanks to Dr. David Wooten. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at English Mountain Christian Church, with Rev. Rick Carr officiating, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
