Shelton, 84, of Litchfield Township, passed away Friday, December 26, 2003, at Lodi Community Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born Feb. 22, 1919, in Parrottsville, Tenn., to George and Jessie Marshall Shelton. He moved to Litchfield in 1953 and worked at General Motors in Brook Park for 29 1/2 years, retiring in 1982. He is survived by his wife, Alice (Nee Gosnell); son, Roger (Mary) Shelton of Litchfield; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Marie (James) Philips of Newport, Tenn.; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Nancy B. of Seville. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Nancy Legg and Evelyn Norman; three brothers and three sisters. Services were held on Monday, December 29, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi. The Rev. Richard Powers of Brunswick officiated. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Horner Township.
