Mrs. Hazel Dean Shelton age 83 of Parrottsville passed away Friday, December 23, 2005 at Baptist Convalescent Center of Cocke County. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her husband, Macon Shelton and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel M. and Deborah Shelton of Talbott; daughters and sons-in-law, Fayetta and Bruce Gunter of White Pine and Madge and Billy Williams of Parrottsville; grandchildren, Jan Bowman of Greeneville, Jody Gunter of White Pine, Wendy Haney of Parrottsville, and Cindy Shropshire of Dandridge; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Suella Hux of Gastonia, N.C., Juanita Hux, and Ida Ruth Cashen both of Parrottsville. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Monday evening December 26, 2005 at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Jennings officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 a.m. Tuesday December 27, 2005 at Faubion Cemetery for the 10 interment. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cosnter-Maloy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
