Rosa Bell Medlin Dixon Vaden of Maryville passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the age of 86. She was born in Greenback, TN. Preceded in death by: Parents, Roy & Myrtle Medlin; Sisters, Mary Lee Lance and Iva Mae Weaver. Rosa retired from ALCOA and was a proud member of their 25-Year Club. In her retirement she focused on her hobbies of crocheting and quilting, as well as spending lots of time with her beloved family. She quilted a unique quilt for every child and grandchild and always had a new crochet project. Rosa will be remembered as a kind and generous soul. She always put a smile on everyone's face and she never let anyone leave her house empty-handed. She made every woman feel like a princess and ever man feel like a prince. She loved to feed people and give gifts. We will miss her laughter and her beautiful smile. Survivors include: Children, Clifton Dixon & wife Janie, Jocelyn McCall & husband David, Jerry Dixon & wife Jill, Jewel Sharp & husband Rex; Grandchildren, Clifton David Dixon & wife Libby, Jonathan McCall & wife Lea Ann, Daniel McCall, Dustin McCall, and Kody Snodgrass; three great-grandchildren, Christian McCall, Rosa Dixon, & Caden McCall; Sister, Ruby Spangler; Brother, Roy Medlin Jr. The family wants to send a special thank you to nieces, Showni Medlin-Crumb, Patricia Newman and Sheila Ely. Also, special thanks to the caring staff at Asbury Place, Donna, Kay, Stuart & the many other staff members there and at Blount Memorial Hospice. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 27, 2012 at Morganton Cemetery for the interment.
