U.S. Veteran Norman Lee Halye, age 53, of Newport, passed away Saturday, November 07, 2009 at his home after battling a lengthy illness. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He was devoted to his friends and family, and a loving husband and step-father. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Franklin Hayle. He was survived by his wife Dawn Hayle; step-daughters, Delani and Randi; sister-in-law, Renea Smithpeters; mother-in-law, Jane Smithpeters; sister, Anna Lewis; father-in-law, and very close and special friend, Randall Smithpeters; also longtime friend, Freddy Jackson. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Tuesday November 10, 2009 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel followed by a Memorial Service.
