Lewis A. Masingo Sr., age 82 of Maryville, formerly of Greenback, died Sunday, November 30, 2003 at Morningview Transitional Care Center. He was a member of Greenback Lodge #691. He retired from Alcoa with 36 years of service and was a member of Alcoa's 25-Year Club. He was a veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Lou Masingo; sisters, Hester Wilde, Cecil Gentry, Ruby Carter and Meryl Perkins; brother, Verlin Masingo. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis Jr. and Susan Masingo of Maryville, Jerry and Phyllis Masingo of Greenback; sisters, Dalis Edwards of Speedwell, Bertha Goad of Lafollette and Bonnie Page of Lake City; grandchildren, Melissa Ownsby, Angela Miller, David Masingo, Lori Cartwright, Todd Masingo and Jennifer Masingo; great-grandchildren, Drew Cartwright, Madison Masingo, Austin Masingo, Amanda Masingo and Emily Miller; special family friend, Paul Pittman and several nieces and nephews.
The family and friends will assemble at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at Sherwood Mausoleum Chapel for graveside service & entombment with Rev. Jimmy Guider officiating.
