Former longtime Knoxville grocer W. B. " Bruce " Ogle died Saturday.
He was 90.
Mr. Ogle opened his first grocery store, Ogle 's Market, on Magnolia Avenue in 1940, later moving the store to Euclid Avenue.
Seven years later he moved the store to Lonas Road in West Knoxville,where he and his wife, Sarah Katherine Ogle, operated it until 1973 when their son Jim took over the store's operations.
The Ogles continued to be involved in the store's operation until 1990.
Mr. Ogle is survived by sons, Bruce Ogle, of Pikeville, Tenn., and Bill Ogle, of Knoxville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Norma Ogle, and Jim and Lynn Ogle of Knoxville; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Melvin Pierce, Martha and Vance Burkey, Rebecca and Danny Kelley, of Knoxville and Virginia and Norman Swain, and Shirley and Bob Cook, of Baltimore, Md.
