RUTLEDGE-Mary Joan Ottinger Combs, 69, of Rutledge, passed away, Tuesday, November 21, at her home after an extended illness. Ms. Combs was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, retired from Enka, and worked at Volunteer Knits, in Rutledge. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul "Patsy" Combs; parents, Herschel Greer and Mildred E. Ottinger; brothers, Hugh, Herschel, Charlie, Willis and Lynn Ottinger. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Herschel "Herky" and Debbie Combs and Samuel and Sharon Combs, all of Rutledge; one granddaughter, Mandi Lindsey; one grandson, Travis Combs; one step-grandson, Brett Kincer; great-grandson, Kobe Lindsey; brother, Rex Ottinger; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 25, at 1 p.m., in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Maness and Rev. Gary Riggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, November 24, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home. Arrangements by Smith Funeral Home, Rutledge.
