William James, 60, of Newport, went to be with his Lord Friday morning, May 9, 2003. Mr. James was a truck driver for Summers and Taylor in Greenville and attended Dutch Bottoms Baptist Church.
Father and mother, Samuel and Nova (Henderson) James preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Imogene (Lewis) James, of the home; one son, Chris James, of Newport, and special friend, Christina Krausslich, also of Newport; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Richard Kelley, of Newport, Alma and Charlie Buckner, of White Pine, Ella and Ron Grant, of Bristol, Dean and Roger Fields, also of Bristol, and Van and Barry Oswalt, of NC; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Linda James and Carl and Frieda James, all of White Pine. Also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends, and a special great-niece, Jacey Brinkley.
The family received friends at Brown Funeral Home Sunday evening 6 to 8 p.m., May 11, 2003. Funeral service was conducted Monday 2 p.m. at Dutch Bottoms Baptist Church with Rev. Manson Lee officiating. Mr. James did lie in state one hour before service.
Brown Funeral Home has been honored to make final arrangements for Mr. William James.
