Ronnie Moore seeks Third District school board seat
BYBEE—Ronnie Moore is seeking the Third District seat on the Cocke County Board of Education in the upcoming August election.
Moore announced his candidacy recently for the position vacated by Jerry Ramsey, who announced his decision not to seek re-election in May.
Moore, son of the late J. G. and Frances Moore, grew up in the Fowlers Grove community and graduated from both Parrottsville Elementary and Parrottsville High Schools. He also attended Walters State Community College.
He retired from BASF with 30 years of service there and has operated Moore Tax Service for the past 26 years. He is also a lifelong farmer.
Moore is married to the former Pamela Smith, a native of Greenville, South Carolina. They have two daughters, Brandi Moore, Bybee, and Bridget (Moore) Nease, who resides with her husband Rusty Nease in Parrottsville. The Moores also have three grandchildren.
They are members of Clay Creek Baptist Church in Bybee.
In announcing his candidacy, Moore said, “I have a grandchild attending Centerview Elementary School and am naturally interested in the school’s continued excellent performance.
“I believe I could help our entire county continue to make greater strides in our educational system. Our county’s schools are second-to-none, but we must all work together to see that they remain as good as they are. We must also see that they continue to improve.
“With the election drawing nearer, I know that time will not allow me to meet each of the voters individually. I humbly ask for your votes in the August 7 election and promise to do all in my power to represent the Third District as honestly and professionally as I can.”
