Starritt to celebrate 82nd birthday July 12
Thomas (Roe) Starritt, of Maryville, will celebrate his 82nd birthday July 12.
Mr. Starritt was born July 12, 1928, to the late Ola and Ethel Starritt.
His family includes wife Frances Irwin Starritt, and children Charles and Teri Starritt, of Sevierville, and Nancy Starritt, Bill and Linda Starritt, Edna and Stanley Nelson, and Tim and Susan Starritt, all of Maryville. He has 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Starritt was employed at ALCOA Inc.
He enjoys visiting with friends and family and also with friends at the mall until a recent decline in health.

Starritt, Thomas Monroe (Roe) age 82 of Maryville passed away April 31, 2011 at his home.
He was retired from ALCOA and a member of the 25 year club. He was a member of MT. Zion Baptist Church and he preached at several churches in Blount County through the years. He also enjoyed going to Foothills Mall to have coffee and visit with friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ola and Ethel Clark Starritt, brothers Ralph, Raymond, Julian and Rex. Sisters, Juanita, Mary Ellen and Betty Jean.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances Irwin Starritt, Children Charles and Teri Starritt of Sevierville, Nancy Starritt, Bill and Linda Starritt, Edna and Stanley Nelson and Tim and Susann Starritt, all of Maryville, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, sister in law, Dot Starritt of Louisville, several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all. We love you Pap-Pap. Special thanks to Blount Memorial Hospice, Quality Home Health, Rural Metro, Maryville Fire Department and the staff at Dr. Carol Long’s office.
The funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Robinson and Rev. Terry Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery for the interment with Rev. Alan Burchfield officiating.

Starretts married 62 years Sept. 5
Thomas (Roe) and Frances (Irwin) Starrett, of Maryville, will observe their 62nd wedding anniversary Sept. 5.
The couple were married Sept. 5, 1948, in Chatsworth, Ga. J.W. Dooley officiated.
Their family includes children Charles and Teri Starrett, of Sevierville, Nancy Starrett, of Maryville, Bill and Linda Starrett, of Maryville, Edna and Stanley Nelson, of Maryville, and Tim and Susann Starrett, of Maryville. They have 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Starrett is retired from ALCOA Inc. Mrs. Starrett is a housewife.
