U.S. Veteran Robert Arthur Harris, age 59, of Newport, passed away suddenly at his home, Wednesday, February 7, 2007. He was a Vietnam Era U.S. Army Veteran. He was an avid hunter & fisherman. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was an employee of Blalock’s in Sevierville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Estee and Clura Emma Dean (Styles) Harris; brother, John Wayne Harris; and grandmother, Ritta Costner. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Taylor Harris; daughter and son-in-law, Sherena and Dwayne Huskey; grandchildren, Mariah and Marc Huskey, all of Newport; sister and brother-in-law, Betsy and Harry Shultz, of Tazwell; uncle and his wife, Tom and Ida Styles, of Cosby; mother-in-law, Mae Taylor, of Bybee; uncles and aunts, Kenneth and Paralee Shultz, Lynn and Carolyn Costner, all of Cosby; special friend Kenneth Lloyd, of Newport; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Thursday, February 8, 2007 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jackie Swanger and Rev. Bobby Benson officiating. Burial will be held 10:00 am Friday, February 9, 2007 in Shady Grove Cemetery, with L/Cpl Charles C. Roberts DAV Chapter 102 conducting military rites. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Thursday prior to the funeral at Manes Funeral Home.
