He attended Deep Springs Baptist Church. He retired from Alstom Powers after 40 years of service and was a U. S. Army veteran. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling and all the friends that he had made since retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvlee & Dorothy Woods. Survivors: wife: Lana Wallace Woods of Clinton; Son: James H. Woods, Jr. of Knoxville; step-children: Heather & Allen Giles of Heiskell David & Teresa Harmon of Heiskell; step-grandchildren: Kelsey, Katie & Max Giles, Emily & Molly Harmon; brother: Ronnie Woods & wife Linda of Alabama; sisters-in-law: Debbie & Gary Beets & daughter Olivia of Clinton, Terrie Cox & daughter Macy of Heiskell; friends: Chuck Laymon, Howard & Joie Jennings, Kenny Webber. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 6 - 8 pm at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral following at 8:00 pm with Rev. Allen Giles officiating. Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 26th at 1:00 pm at Sartin Cemetery with full military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
