Satterfield, Terry Gene – age 61 of Knoxville passed away suddenly and tragically on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. He was indeed an extraordinary man among men. He lived his life with humility, honesty and decency. Terry’s willingness to help others, be a peacemaker and exemplify a “work hard” ethic, whatever the task, made him noble and wise in his countenance. His quiet, sweet spirit was like a soothing balm to calm life’s difficult moments. He was an outdoorsman who loved God’s beautiful creations and found peace and a measure of joy whether watching a sunset, the beauty of his gardens or the colorful feathers of a hummingbird. Though we deeply grieve his absence from us here on earth, we know by faith that he is at peace and dwells happily in the presence of our Heavenly Father. He has now seen God’s wonderful face. Preceded in death by his parents, Benton and Jane Satterfield and younger brother, Larry Satterfield. He leaves behind to mourn his passing, Gale, wife of 42 years. They were high school sweethearts who grew more in love while making a lifetime of wonderful memories. That abiding love will forever continue. Precious children; Chris and wife Vickie; Tammy and husband, Tony; Justin and wife; Joy. Eight incredibly wonderful grandchildren: Ashton, Katie, Madison, Christian, Brianna, Brooklyn, Emily and Abby. Brother, Lynn, and wife, Jennie, and sister, Myra, and husband, Lynn. Several nieces, nephews and extended family. Terry was a beloved and cherished husband, father, grandfather and brother. Friend to many, kind to all. Our loss is Heaven’s gain. Longtime member of Sharon Baptist Church, joyfully serving in the nursery department for many years. He was president and founder of American Eagle Equipment Co., Inc. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 29, 2011, between 5 and 8pm at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37924. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Bridges Funeral Home at 2pm with Dr. Jim Robertson officiating with the interment to immediately follow at Lynnhurst Cemetery on Adair Drive. Pallbearers will be his sons; Chris, Justin and Tony; grandsons; Ashton and Christian and brother, Lynn. Honorary pallbearers to serve are Mark Shown and Michael Allen, longtime faithful co-workers, and brother-in-law, Lynn Sowder.
