LEE, MR. ROY C. - age 67, passed away December 26, 1997, at his home. He was a heart transplant recipient at St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., on June 30, 1988. He was a longtime member, deacon, Sunday School teacher, Training Union Director and Youth Council Leader at Valley Grove Baptist Church, South Knoxville. He served in the U.S. Navy and was retired from ATT Telephone Company after 38 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Evelyn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Alvin Lee and wife Linda of Louisville, Tenn., Danny and wife Karen of Boise, Idaho; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Lynn and husband Wm. Andrew Sexton, and Jana Kay and husband Chris Ketron, all of Seymour; seven grandchildren, Brian and Laura Lee, David and Derik Sifford, Jeromy, Jennifer Brooke and Jessica Johnson; four step-grandchildren, Jonathan Sexton, Brandon, Rachel and Angela Keltron; one sister, Kate Ray of Knoxville; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Services will be held December 27, 1997, at Valley Grove Baptist Church at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Harry Mynatt officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 1997, at Highland South Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mayford Gaylon, Ray Simpson, Charles Hamilton, Mark Inman, Richard Reagan, Adrian Jett, Floyd Johnson, Sr., and Rick Hill. Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Bradley, John McCormack, Ike Burton, J.R. Keylon, Mike Mooneyham, B.J. Price and deacons of Valley Grove Church. The family requests that memorials be made to Valley Grove Baptist Church Life Center Fund, 9000 Old Sevierville Pike, Knoxville, Tenn. Highland South Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
