LINDSAY, ROY BERRY, SR. - age 73, of South Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 14, 2010. He was retired from Batson, Himes, Norvell and Poe Engineering Company after 45 years of service. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, South Knoxville Masonic Lodge # 769, Knoxville Scottish Rite, and Past Patron of Acacia Chapter # 362, Order of the Eastern Star. He attended Vestal United Methodist Church, where his grandson is the pianist. Preceded in death by parents, Roy and Jama Berry Lindsay; brothers, Alfred, Abe and Tommy Lindsay; sisters, Vera Orick, Helen Sayne, and Ruthanna Fields. Survivors: loving wife of 53 years, Judy Rogers Lindsay; son and daughter-in-law, Roy Berry Lindsay, Jr. and Brenda; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Richard Meltabarger; grandson, Roy Berry Lindsay, III (Trey), all of Knoxville; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Buddy and Barbara Rogers of Lenoir City; sister, Doris Triplett of Maryville; grand-dog, "Scooter"; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, 8 North and Intensive Care for their excellent care and support. A Masonic Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Sunday followed by a funeral service in Stevens Mortuary Chapel. Dr. Deron Cobb and Rev. Wendell Smith officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:00 p.m. Monday at Stevens Mortuary and go in procession to Stock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery for a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at N.
