Jimmy R. Butler, age 77 of Newport passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 at his home. He was a member of Cave Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for forty years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Butler; and parents, Larmie and Sally Butler. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Diane Butler, and Lynn and Kim Butler; daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Dwayne Fletcher; special nephew, Charles Glen Epley and wife Carolyn; grandchildren, April (Jimmy) Williams, Brittany (Josh) Barnes, Chelsey (BrooKs) Witcher and Macy Bryant; great-grand daughters, Hali Williams, Mikayla Williams, Aubrey Witcher and Breyona Barnes; Brothers, Roger Butler and Wayne Butler; sisters Peggy Giles and Sandra Hux; as well as nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Manes Funeral Home West Chapel with Rev. James Suggs and Rev. Jimmy Williams officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 21, 2013 in Cave Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday prior to funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Cave Hill Baptist Church or a Charity of your choice. Family and friends may sign the guest register online at www.manesfuneralhome.com. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
