September 6, 1930 - April 22, 2016 Arthur Dodson, age 85, went home to be with Jesus on Friday April 22, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He enjoyed working sudoku puzzles and listening to bluegrass music. He was a longtime member of Forest Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dora Dodson; and his son, Danny Dodson. He is survived by Betty, his wife of 62 years; daughter, Debi Carney (Mark) of Washington State; son, Kenny Dodson (Lisa) of Maryville Tennessee; sisters, Barbara Valentine (Bill), Rebecca Valentine (Roy) and Beulah Bales; grandchildren, Sarah and Amy Carney; great grandchildren, Kiari, James and Xavier, all of Washington State; several nieces and nephews; many friends at the Senior Citizens Centers; and a special furry friend, Mollie. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 5-7pm at Berry Funeral Home (3704 Chapman Hwy. Knoxville, TN 37920), with a funeral service to follow at 7pm with Rev. Earl Dunn officiating. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 11am at Forest Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
