MURPHY, MARL JULIAN JR. - age 59 of Ringgold, GA formerly of Knoxville passed away Thursday September 20, 2007 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Knoxville. Marl, who is now retired last worked for PBR Automotive in Knoxville. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era. Preceded in death by parents, Marl J. and Nell Morris Murphy Sr. Survived by: wife, Betty Sherrod Murphy of Ringgold, GA; sons, Marl "Trey" Murphy III of Knoxville and Eric Murphy of LaFayette, GA; sister, Sharon Murphy Lowman of Albany, GA; brother-in-law, Ted Sherrod of Birmingham, AL; cousin, Mary & Ed Gass of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. Family and Friends will meet at the West Adair Entrance to Lynnhurst Cemetery 9:45 A.M. Monday for Graveside Services at 10:00 A.M. with Full Military Honors by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers: Phillip Edmondson, Ed Gass, Michael Clarey, Ted Sherrod. Memorials may be made to the Charity of your choice. The Family will receive Friends 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
