Marilyn Ruth Wilson Overholt passed away in Pensacola, Florida on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, after a brief illness. She was a teaching assistant at Northwest Elementary School for twenty years. Ruth was a loving wife, devoted mother, and dear friend. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Winford Darrell Overholt: her children Robert Overholt (Michele Thomas), Kristle Overholt Norton (Chris), Samuel Overholt (Melody Norris), and Bruce Overholt (Crystal): fourteen grandchildren; Shanda, Leslie, Kirsten, Jonathon, Isabella, Emerald, Caleb, Jacob, Alex, Lacie, Ethan, Brandy, Zoe, and Damon and five great-grandchildren: Tatum, Drake, Lillie, Autumn, and Summer. Additional survivors include her siblings Peggy and John Holt, Jane and Bill Gibson, Jim Wilson Carroll and Dominique Wilson, Reece and Susie Wilson, Barbara and Mike Proffitt, Jack and Kathy Wilson, Harold and Diane Wilson, David and Vickie Wilson, Gary and Tanya Wilson, Chris and Melissa Wilson and Nancy and Jim Clabo: as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Family and friends will be received at Dutch Bottoms Baptist Church, 25-E, Newport, on Saturday, June, 22, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral Services will follow immediately from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Kerbela Shriners in Ruth's name. Brown Funeral Home is honored to serve the Overholt family.
