LUTHER FLYNN, age 94, of Dandridge, TN passed away Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the Jefferson County Nursing Home. He was a member of the Grave Baptist Church, retired from the Jefferson County Road Department, a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe with the 2nd Armored Division and was a Purple Heart recipient. Preceded in death by his wife, Cinda Flynn. Survived by daughters, Dorothy Jean Grogan of Morristown, and Barbara (Clyde) Jones of Dandridge; grandchildren, Larry (Lorrie) Jones, Patti (Terry) Kelly, Sherry Butler, Pam Shephard, Bob Grogan, Steve Grogan and Susan (Greg) Gass; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua Kelly, Willie and Leon Butler, Caine and Meghan Jones, Tim Grogan, Jennifer Atkins and Frankie Gass; great-great grandchildren, Chloe and Poppy Atkins; brother, Roger Flynn; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Emmett Manley, Roger Mynatt and the staff of the Jefferson County Nursing Home for their love and special care. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2008 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Cross officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
