Ward, Charles H. Sr. age 80 of Knoxville passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009 at his home. He was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church. He retired from Tucker Steel and was a 25 year business agent for the Iron Workers Union. Member of Shekinah Lodge #524 F&AM. He was a US Navy Veteran. Preceded in death by parents, Hanley and Ella Ward; several brothers and sisters. Survivors: wife of 57 years, Peggy Ward; son, Charles H. Ward Jr. (Sonny); sons and daughters in law, Mike and Carlene Ward, Ronnie and Missy Ward; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, David and Elizabeth Ward. Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home by Shekinah Lodge #524 F&AM with the funeral service to follow with Rev. Larry Anderson and Rev. Archie Elliot officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 A.M. Wednesday at Eastview Memorial Gardens for the interment at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends from 6-7 P.M.
