James Stokely Nease, 76, of Parrottsville, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2001, at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was a retired truck driver from Sonoco Products.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Leo B. Nease and Suella Nease, and a brother, Fred Nease.
James is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mary Ruth Nease, of Parrottsville; daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Jeff Balch, of Parrottsville, and daughter, Linda Brockway, of Newport; grandchildren, Olivia Dawn Balch and Andrew James Balch, of Parrottsville, and Russell Farmer, of Knoxville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Ronnie Davis, Imogene and Paul Freeman, all of Newport; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean and Jimmy Allen, of Newport; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Soynia Pruitt, of Dandridge, Luther and Sheila Pruitt, of Parrottsville; brother-in-law, Joe Pruitt, of Dandridge; and several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2001, at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Jennings and Rev. Bill Murr officiating.
Family will receive friends 6 p.m. till 8 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service at Manes Funeral Home.
Manes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
