A. Jack Reagan, age 82 of Gatlinburg, passed at home after a battle with ALS, Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
He began his life Aug, 30, 1931 in a cabin on Roaring Fork Creek. As a boy he grew up where his parents started LeConte Creek Cottages and Motel on the Parkway in Gatlinburg. There Jack developed a lifelong love of hunting and fishing. As a teenager, Jack attended Pi Beta Phi School where he met his future wife, Lela Jane Love. At Pi Phi, Jack was a member of the varsity Basketball Team, and a member of the very 1st high school football team in Gatlinburg. After high school, Jack and Jane married and started a family. Jack owned a sight-seeing business and later a Pan-am service station. During this time in their lives they had 3 boys, Sam, Dan, and Mark. Jack served the Gatlinburg Community as a police officer, a city councilman, and as mayor. Later he owned and operated a campground and Reagan's Hardware.
After retirement Jack loved to watch Dan and Jane compete in Weight Lifting, fish with Mark, attend Gatlinburg-Pittman football games to watch Grandson Dillon play, and visit with great-grandson Paxton.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ina Ownby Reagan, father, Lewis Paxton Reagan, sons, Samuel Lewis Reagan and Daniel Jack Reagan, and sister, Billie Ruth Kelly
He is survived by Wife Jane Love Reagan, Son and Daughter-in-law - Mark Andrew.and Kathryn Haynes Reagan
Grandchildren: Melissa Reagan, Charli Reagan, Brandy and husband Paul Moyers, Todd Reagan and wife Ali Reagan, Brittany Reagan and Jon Heath, Kaitlin Reagan, Dillon Reagan
Great Grandchildren: Brooklyn Green, Paxton Reagan, Hadley Heath, Chelsey Ogle, Meagan Ogle, and Alex Reagan.
