SHULTS, SAM MINYARD - age 80 of Sevierville, died Fri. Feb. 9, 2001 at Royal Care Nursing Home. Mr. Shults was a decorated World War II veteran, having served in the elite 94th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. He served in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, & Central Europe. He was wounded in Germany in Jan. of 1945. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with 4 Bronze Stars, the American Theatre Ribbon, a Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, & the World War II Victory Medal. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Levator & Martha Elizabeth Campbell Shults; sisters, Ersa Watson, Nina Ruth Shular.
Survivors: wife, Stella Demaris Shults; son & daughter in law, Fred S. & Judy Shults of Sevierville; grandchildren, Wendy & Todd Ranson of Brentwood, Tenn., Douglas Shults of Seattle, Wash.; great grandchildren, Bailey & Tyler Ranson; brothers & sisters in law, Carl & Eunive Shults, Bobby & Lucille Shults; brothers in law, Oscar Watson, Woodrow Shular; sisters in law, Maggie King, Bertha Trentham. Funeral services 7 p.m. Sun. at Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel, Pigeon Forge with Dr. Sam Justus & Rev. Dee Wilson officiating. Entombment will be 10 a.m. Mon. in the Garden Mausoleum of Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sun. at Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel, Pigeon Forge.

Sam Minyard Shults, age 80 of Sevierville, died Friday February 9, 2001 at Royal Care Nursing Home.
