Horace Richard Floyd, 85 of Oak Ridge, died on December 14, 2007. Horace was born on September 5, 1922 in Sevier County, Tennessee to parents James Thomas and Ada Mae Lethco Floyd. He was of the Methodist faith, a Veteran with the US Army during WWII, was a member of BPOE, and retired from Union Carbide, Y-12 facility, as a chemical supervisor, after 32 ½ years of service. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his family, enjoyed gardening, walking, and reading the Bible.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Roy Floyd.

brothers, James Floyd and wife, Grace, and Elmer Floyd, Sevierville;
sisters, Ruth Oglesby, Powell,

children, Charles Richard Floyd and wife, Laura, Athens, TN., Larry Floyd and wife, Martha, Athens, Debra Cobb and husband, Ron, Jacksonville, FL.,

Kathy Watson and husband, Tom, Kingston, TN.;

The memorial service will be held in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, 7 P.M. with Dr. Charles Richard Floyd officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the form of donations to Betty Floyd, @ORNL Federal Credit Union, 221 Rutgers Ave., Oak Ridge, TN, 37830, to help cover final medical expenses. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 – 7 at Weatherford Mortuary.
