Billy C. "Bill" Ogle,age 77 of Talbott, TN passed away Saturday, June 7, 2003 at his residence. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the famour 44th infantry division where he participated in the Normandy invasion and was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and the Good Conduct Award. He retired from US Steel Zinc Mines with 42 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Oakley Ogle; his father, Isaac N. Ogle; sisters, Novella Nolen and Maxine Henderson; brother, Lee Ogle and son in law, Paul Sandy Webb.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice M. Ogle; daughter, Louise Webb; son and daughter in law, Carl and Lynne Ogle; grandchildren, Charla Webb Matthews and husband Sam matthews, Shonna Webb Curle and husband, Charles "Chip" Curle; step grandchildren, Carrie Tucker and husband, Chris Tucker, Gina White and husband, Josh White and Justin Goode; great grandchildren, Madison matthews, Jacob Matthews and Zachary Curle; step great grandson, Tyler White; brothers and sister in law, Alvin and Magdeline Ogle and Fred and Lona Ogle; sisters, Lena Latham and Blanch Latham; sister in law and husband, Genelle and Bob Templeton; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Fred and Evelyn Finley, Jack and Minnie Welch, Nita Webb, Carl Trask and Sara and Ray Livesay.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2003 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles lanter officiating. Family and friends will gather at 8:45 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2003 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 9 a.m. graveside intrment service with military honors by Volunteer State Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening prior to the funeral service.
