KETCHERSID, WILLIAM C. (BILL), passed quietly from this earth on June 29, 2008, at Wyndridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossville, TN. Born January 08, 1919, in Spring City, TN, Bill was a principal for many years in Osceola County and volunteered in the Peace Corps for several years after his retirement. Bill was a World War II veteran who served as a Captain in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific. Preceding Bill in death was his wife, Madge Andes Ketchersid; brothers, Chester Ketchersid, Newell Ketchersid, and Burrell Ketchersid; sisters, Evelyn Schmidt, Reba Taff, and Glenna Wygal; and daughter Karen Scott. Survivors include sisters, Juanita Wicker of College Park, GA; Margaret Ruch of Knoxville, TN; Rena Ramm of Sumner, WA; and Ruth Fraas of Lodgepole, NE; daughters, Tandy Sinor and Dinah Buchanan of Nacogdoches, TX; and daughter, Karma Tackett; and son-in-law, AC Tackett, of Crossville, TN; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was an avid gardener and had a deep appreciation of nature. He was a humble man known for his sweet disposition and wry sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at a date to be announced.
