KRESS , IRA JACK - age 70, of West Knoxville, formerly of Bristol died Tuesday evening March 2, 2004. He was a retired electrician with Kress Electric and a US Army veteran serving in Korea. Mr. Kress had accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. A Scottish Rite Mason, he was member of Cherokee Lodge #728 F&AM. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen B. Kress three sons, Jack Kress , III of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Del McCartney of Knoxville, and Mike Simcox of Bristol, VA four daughters, Dawn McElroy, Tracy Hicks and husband, Rick, Lisa Dales and husband, Dave, and Jennifer Simcox all of Knoxville stepmother, Helen R. Kress nine grandchildren two great grandchildren sister & brother-in-law, Mona & Lonnie McDowell of Atwater, California two brothers & sisters-in-law, Jerry and Ann Kress of Knoxville, Ron & Norma Kress of Bristol, Virginia several nieces & nephews and a host of friends. Funeral service 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Rev. Chris Farmer, Rev. Ted Woods, Rev. Terry Richards, and Rev. Floyd Taylor. Family and friends will meet at Tennessee Veterans' Cemetery Friday for a 9:30 A.M. interment service by Cherokee Lodge #728 F&AM and military honors presented by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers: J.R. Cummings, Curtis Tate, Bill Price, Jack Spurgeon, Bobby & Joe London. The family will receive friends 5-7:00 P.M. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
