Kenneth Lamar Pettyjohn , 69 of Chattanooga, passed away in his home on Monday, April 1, 2013.
Kenneth was a member of the United States Marine Corps and retired from the United States Post Office with 38 years of service, and a past president of the American Postal Workers Union.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, James Lamar and Printha Ann Huskey Pettyjohn .
Kenneth is survived by his son, Christopher Lamar Pettyjohn ; daughters, Paige (David) Pettyjohn Robbins from Hot Springs, Ark., Allison (Bartley) Pettyjohn Jenkins from Dandridge, Tenn.; sisters, Jennifer (James) McDaniel from Signal Mountain, Ann Brown from Signal Mountain, Rebecca (Dale) LeVally from Soddy-Daisy; brother, James Rex Pettyjohn from Rising Fawn, Ga.; grandchildren, Meghan Bessling, Blake Robbins, Micah Robbins, and Cooper Jenkins; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today, April 7, at the North Chapel and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, April 8.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 8 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Dr. Steven Granger officiating.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for their kind and compassionate care.
