Charlcie Mae Toby Barnes, 72, of White Pine, departed this earthly life on Sunday afternoon, January 2, 2011, at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System with family members by her side. Born February 23, 1938, in Bybee, she was the third of six children born to Bewley Toby and the former Zora Fox. On June 26, 1957, she married Billy Joe Barnes, of Cosby, in Dandridge. She is a longtime member of Stokely’s Chapel Baptist Church. She later attended Bewley’s Chapel United Methodist Church with her daughter and granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Billy J. Barnes Jr.; granddaughter, Kathy “Danielle” Barnes; three sisters, Molly Toby Love, Juanita Toby Miller, and Bernice Toby; half-brother, Pvt. J.E. Sprouse; and several other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband of 53 years, Billy Barnes, survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Mae and Shawn Hemsworth; granddaughter, Elizabeth Charlcie Hemsworth; granddaughter, Cindy Barnes, and her companion, Jason Webb, of White Pine; great-granddaughters, Diamond Daniels and Lily Webb, of White Pine; brother and sister-in-law, J.C. and Dorothy Toby, of New Market; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Kyle Tolliver, of Mosheim; brother-in-law, Hubert Love, of Dandridge; step-grandchildren, Eric, Dallas, and Samantha Hemsworth, of Sevierville; daughter-in-law, Kathy “Susie” Fralix; aunts, Dixie McMahan and Annie Epley; special cousins, Dorothy James, Lila Bevill, James Fox, Effie White, Harrison and Betty Fox, Charles Fox, Roy Paul Fox, and Dodie Whitehead; as well as several other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, January 4, 2011, at Stokely’s Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow visitation at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church with Brother Fred Jenkins and the Reverend Bobbie Dunford officiating. Family and friends will meet at Resthaven Memorial Gardens at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, for the 1 p.m. interment. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
