DYKES , HESTER " LOUISE " - formerly of South Knoxville, passed away September 4, 2004 at 4:50 p.m. at the age of 86, at Hillcrest West Residential Hospice. A former employee of Cherokee Mills. She was a longtime member of Gayland Heights Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: husband, Carl R. Dykes parents, Charlie and Rachel Varner sisters, Annie Humphrey and Martha Manning brothers, Mark and Avie Varner. Survivors: daughters, Elizabeth Childress and husband Marshall of Knoxville, Vina Bohanan and her husband James of Knoxville 3 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren. Special thanks to the Nurses and Staff of Hillcrest West and to Caris Hospice. Funeral service 8 pm Tuesday, Berry Chapel, Rev. Tom Baez, Chaplain Caris Hospice officiating. Interment 1 pm Wednesday, Pollards Cemetery, Kodak. Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday.
