GIVENS , JOHNNY C., JR. - age 72 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at 10:00 p.m. at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Johnny was born on August 21, 1931 in Martel (Loudon County), TN. He was the son of John Cowan and Bessie Irene Sharp Givens . Johnny was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Paul and Roy Givens . Surviving family members: Partner and friend in life, Mary A. Givens , daughter, Sharon Lee Givens McMahan, of Knoxville Son, John Dewayne Givens of San Angelo, TX, daughter Brenda Kay Lewellen of San Angelo, TX, daughter Jana Marie Whitson of San Angelo, TX and daughter Rhonda Sue Alsbrook of Garland, TX several grandchildren and a great grandchild sisters, Ruby McGill, Sue Munsey, and Bobbie Morre, bothers, Horace Givens and Ellis Givens several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Community Bible Church at the corner of Choto Road and Early Drive on Saturday, January 17, 2004. Johnny had donated his body to the Department of Anthropology at the University of Tennessee. Memorials may be made to the East Tennessee Chapter of the Cancer Society and the Ft. Sanders Foundation 8N Oncology Fund.
