Faye D. Clamon , 89, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Faye was born January 7, 1923 in Maryville, Tennessee to parents, Sam and Hixie Dixon. She was married to the late John R. Clamon . John and Faye moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1951. Faye was an active member of Roswell Street Baptist Church and later First Baptist Church of Woodstock. She loved gardening, bowling and fishing and was a long term employee of Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Faye is preceded in death by her son, J. Richard Clamon , of Woodstock. Survivors include son, Joseph W. Clamon and his wife, Susan, of Atlanta; daughter in law, Elaine Clamon , of Woodstock; sister, Bernice Brown, of Centre, Alabama; grandchildren, Alicia Spratt and husband, Stuart, of Ball Ground, Susanne O'Brien and husband, Keith, of Woodstock, John R. "Jack" Clamon , of Atlanta and Catherine Landrum and husband, Ben, of Cincinnati, Ohio; great grandchildren, Stephen, Elliott, Melinda, Mitch and Olivia; great-great grandchildren, Landon and Aria Faye . Memorials may be made to Mount Paran Church, Mission Austria, 2055 Mount Paran Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30327. Family services will be private.
