Stiles, Kenneth Elmer – age 86 of Strawberry Plains. Our precious Daddy went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 6, 2012. He was a Veteran of World War II and was in the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle at Normandy. Member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Kenneth “Lucy” enjoyed being a baseball pitcher for Tuckahoe in his younger years, played the guitar, enjoyed playing in bands with friends, and was a Boy Scout leader. Preceded in death by parents, Bessie and Lloyd Wilson; spouse of 57 years, Estelene Hurst Stiles; and sister, Joyce Wilson. Survived by sons, Danny Stiles and wife Kim of Morristown, Larry Stiles and wife Nita of Knoxville, and Donald Stiles of Strawberry Plains; daughters, Brenda Reed and husband Phil of Knoxville, and Martha Clabo of Knoxville; brother, Clarence Wilson of New Market; sister, Dot Rogers of Kodak; grandchildren, Jennifer Farmer, Tiffany Temple, Chris Clabo, Angie Howell, Autumn Walker, Amanda Bartleson, Daniel Stiles, Doug Stiles, Courtney Stiles, Corey Stiles, Brian Reed, Whitney Rudder, and Chris Eddington; and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Cook officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:15 AM Friday at the funeral home and proceed to Pollard Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Knox County Sheriff’s Department “SCAN” officers. Military honors will be provided by East TN Veteran Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999.
