BOWERS , ANNA LEE GRINDELL - age 92 of Greenback, went "home" on January 25, 2005 to be with her heavenly Father and family of those who have gone before her. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband of 71 years, Otis "Footlong" Bowers her children, Joe and Lorene Bowers of Maryville, Rufus and Polly Bowers of Fallbrook, California, Joyce and Charles Sparks of Greenback, Maxine and Randall McCarter of Maryville, Carol and Jerry Traxler of Maryville sister, Nina Blankenship of Maryville 16 grandchildren 28 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Anna Lee was a life long member of Oakland United Methodist Church, having given her life to Jesus at age 14. She also regularly attended Law's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2005 at Oakland United Methodist Church, Trigonia Road, Greenback, Pastor Steve Yeaney officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. All flowers are to be delivered to the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101. Friends may call at their convenience Thursday until 8:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday at Oakland United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
