(THARP) - age 90 of Corryton passed away 11:19 p.m. Saturday April 2, 2011 at Mercy Hospice in Halls. She was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church and was preceded in death by husband, Newell F. Bailey; parents, Charlie and Rettie (Hickle) Tharp; brother, Fred (Red Eye) Tharp. Survived by sisters, Zelma A. Parker of Corryton, Nellie B. Corum of Halls, sisters and brother-in-law, Lena Mae Tharp, Mildred Jones, Dennis Bailey and Ronald and Judy Bailey, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. in Byrds Chapel, Rev. Clarence Byrd officiating. Music by Dollie June Merritt. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sharp Cemeter on Luttrell/Corryton Rd. Pallbearers: James E. Parker, Denny Tharp, Conley Tharp, Randy Tharp, Fred Tharp, Charlie Tharp, Mike Corum, Greg Corum, H.E. Corum, and Christopher Corum.
