ALLISON JR., George "Bud" Upton, age 66 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, November 18,
2003, at Fairpark Healthcare Center. He attended St. Mary"s School, Catholic High School and
the University of TN. He was extremely involved in Maryville-Alcoa Civitan Club, even being a
founder of Airport Civitan, his second year as a director he was finance chairman of International
Civitan. He has served in every office of the local level and almost every position in the
Appalachian District (East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia). He attended several area
churches, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Midway Baptist Church and Rio Church of God.
Of all the organizations he has been associated with, the ones he liked best are "the youth
programs, like Special Olympics and the Boy Scouts".
He was preceded in death by his parents, George U. Allison and Margaret Searcy Allison and
grandson, Michael Allison.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Arbutus Hampton Allison; son and daughter-in-law, Jack
and Linda Allison; grandchildren, Greg Allison, Jason Freeman and Jennifer Allison; brother and
sister-in-law, Robert and Anne Witt Allison; extended family, Tony and Phyllis Crisp, Charley
and Betty Ashworth and Jeff Burchfield.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral
Home Chapel with Father Alex Waraksa and Rev. Harold Robbins officiating. The entombment
will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday in Sherwood Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click
Funeral Home, Maryville.
