Four local students to be presented at Knoxville Teen Board

The Teen Board of Knoxville is a private, non-profit organization solely for teenagers, ages 14 to 18, with adult help.
According to the press release, the purpose of Teen Board is to get the teenagers to work and take the lead in civic and welfare projects, and to lift their social and moral life to higher standards.
The press release indicates that last year, more than 12,000 hours were given to civic and welfare projects for charitable organizations.
Teen Board begins with a party on Friday evening, Aug. 8, at the Teen Center. Then on Saturday, Aug. 9, there will be practice and brunch for teenagers only. That evening it will be followed by the mayor's dinner, which honors the presentees and other dignitaries.
Presentees will be presented and the dance will be held the evening of Aug. 9 at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. Following the presentation there will be a black-tie reception.
Presentees will be Whitney Ellen Ball, Sidney Leigh Robinson, Sydne Grayce Ottinger, and Emily Kate Eisenhower.
Ball is the daughter of Jeff "Fud" and Bonnie Ball, of Newport. She is the granddaughter of Myra Ball, the late Zimri Ball, William Whitaker, and the late Pennvia Whitaker.
She has three sisters, Miranda Ball Allen, Jennifer Ball, and Allison Ball.
An avid golfer and member of the CCHS golf team, she once again returned to compete in the state tournament this year. She has received numerous golf awards and honors.
In addition, she is a member of the yearbook staff, Key Club, Beta Club, FCA, Student Council, and is senior class president.
In her free time, she has volunteered with the American Red Cross and helped with various charity golf tournaments. She attends First Baptist Church and is active with the youth group.
Her escort will be Joshyua Shults, the son of Maurice and Debbie Shults.
Robinson is the daughter of David and Charlena Robinson, of Newport. She is the granddaughter of Betty Harper, the late Charles Harper, and Barry and Billie Gullett. She has one sister, Lena Robinson.
Robinson enjoys spending time with friends and family. She is employed at Food City East.
Bradley Crum, the son of Darrell and Ellen Crum, will be her escort.
Ottinger, the daughter of Mike and Louanna Ottinger, of Newport, is a member of the Adventure Club and FCCLA at CCHS.
Her grandparents are Diana Ottinger, L.D. and Rhonda Ottinger, Janie and Gray Hurley. She has one sister, Sami.
Ottinger works at Sagebrush Steakhouse and WNPC.
Her escort will be Travis Lynn Shults, the son of Mike and Debbie Suggs and Victor and Patricia Shults.
He is the grandson of Glenda and the late J.D. Holdway, Victor and Judy Shults, and John B. Stinson. His siblings are Taylor, Tyler, and Tristan Shults.
Eisenhower is the daughter of Kenny and Debbie Eisenhower, of Newport.
Her grandparents are Zella Ruth Eisenhower, of Newport; the late Wilbur Eisenhower; and the late George and Darcus Woody. She has one sister, Kennie Leigh Eisenhower.
At CCHS, Eisenhower is a varsity cheerleader. She is Key Club president and serves as vice president of Beta Club. She is drum major with the Red Regiment marching band and plays the piccolo and flute. She was a Girls State delegate.
In the past, she has volunteered at charitable events, such as Relay for Life, the Toys for Tots drive, and at the Boys and Girls Club of Newport/Cocke County.
Her escort will be Drew Crawford, the son of David and Brenda Crawford.
He is the grandson of Carl and Bobbie Crawford, of McMinnville; Julia Bright, of Philadelphia; and the late Bill Bright. He has one brother, Jake Crawford.
