Loope, Ian Michael –age 23 of Knoxville, was reunited with his mother by his Lord Jesus Christ on Monday afternoon, May 17, 2010. He was a young Renaissance man with a love of mankind and a profound social conscience. Ian was a 2005 graduate of Fulton High School and was presently part of the Honors History Program at the University of Tennessee. He was a member of Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church where he had given his life to Christ as a youth. Ian wanted to make a difference in the world- and he has. He was preceded in Heaven by just three weeks by his beloved mother, Marilyn Susie Loope; by his maternal grandmother, Bertha Freshour; his paternal grandfather, Calvin Loope; and his hero, SPC. Daniel Harrison. Until they are reunited in Heaven, he is deeply missed by his greatest admirer, his loving father, Stephen Loope; paternal grandmother, Helen Loope; uncle, Michael Loope; maternal grandfather, J. V. Freshour; uncle and aunt, Larry and Carolyn Freshour; aunt Sarah Doyle and friend Robert Appley; uncle, David Freshour; aunt and uncle, Megann and Ted Sheckler; many beloved cousins; and more friends than we can count. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church with a celebration of life service to follow at 8:00 PM. Rev. Mark McKeehan, Rev. David Collins, Rev. Chuck Morris, and Doug Harrison will be leading the celebration. Memorials may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, c/o Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church, 4615 Asheville Highway, P.O. Box 6010, Knoxville, Tennessee 37914, 865-522-2422.
