Pauline W. Phipps, age 79, of Maryville, entered into her eternal reward Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born in Tremont and retired from UT Medical Center where she worked with newborns. She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. She was a resident of Fairpark Healthcare Center for the past five years. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Ann Phipps; grandson, Jason Woody; great-grandson, Daniel Andrew Byrd; parents, Ulys and Mintha Shultz Wilson; brother, Gearl Dee Wilson; sister, Imogene Wilson; and Gene Phipps. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Ray Hurst, Susie Cagle, and Diane and Don Woody; grandchildren, Doug Hurst, Brad Hurst, George William Cagle, III, Crystal Cagle, Michelle Woody Byrd and husband, J. R., and Allison Woody; great-granddaughter, Tenley Byrd; sisters and brothers-in-law, Julia and Leon Effler, Betty and Ray Taylor, and Johnnie Wilson; sister-in-law, Evelyn Wilson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 29, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel with the interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Rev. Tony Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
