BLACKBURN , WILLIAM LESTER "LES" - age 74, of Maryville, passed away Thursday, July 15, 1999. Retired from Sears. Served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII on Iwo Jima and Guam. Member of Rockford Lodge #469 F&AM. Preceded in death by father, Harley Wert Blackburn ; mother, Lois Elledge Blackburn ; first wife, Roberta Gentry Blackburn . Survivors: wife, Stella Russell Balckburn; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Randy Robinson of Maryville; son, William Gary Blackburn of Nashville; grandchildren, Benjamin Sevier Blackburn , Catherine Ravenel Blackburn , Kendra Denise Shelton, Angela Brooke Shelton; sisters, Hillis Bettis, Augusta Davis, Betty Reuter, Norma Wilson, Sue Bean, Gail Newsom; stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Bill and Belinda Russell of Maryville, Shannon and Lisa Russell of Alcoa, Jon Russell of San Antonio, Texas; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Libby and Mike Deere of Murfreesboro; 4 step-granddaughters. Funeral service 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 1999 at Berry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Taylor officiating. interment will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the American Lung Association. Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, Knoxville, in charge of arrangements.
